Contact Us « Important LinksFor Registration and Accommodation Correspondence regarding papers | XXV National Seminar 2012 – Call for PapersIASLIC (Indian Association of Special Libraries and Information Centres) has scheduled its 25th National Seminar 2012 to be held at Ananda Rangapillai Library, Pondicherry University, Puducherry, during December 10-13, 2012. Due to the emergence of digital technology, library services have greatly been accelerated to disseminate literary, artistic and scientific work to a very large community. The librarians in the digital environment have the same responsibility to collect information and help users by providing them in either form. But problems related to Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) become major issues of discussion. The Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) should be encouraging the use of information and not for creating hurdles in its use. Undoubtedly the role of librarians has been enhanced to continue to work as catalyst for the free flow of information between the owners of the intellectual property and its potential users. Thus, IASLIC has decided “Intellectual Property Rights: Problems and Prospects with Special Reference to Library and Information Services” as the main theme of its 25th National Seminar 2012.
