Floor Plan

The University Library is housed in a separate two storeyed building of its own. The book stack area consists of three storeys. The University Library has sitting accommodation for more than 250 readers.

In the University Library, the fully air conditioned Hall-I in the ground floor houses all the current Journals and periodicals including Abstracting and Indexing periodicals and the e-resources browsing facility. The journals are arranged discipline-wise on the periodical display racks with pigeon-hole compartments, along the walls. Adjacent to the Browsing Section, systems are available for OPAC service. Encyclopedia Corner, Books Circulation Counter, Librarian's Room, Library Office, Acquisition Section and Library Technical Processing Section are also in the ground floor and fully air conditioned. The fully air conditioned Hall II in the first floor houses all Science Books arranged in the classified (Dewey Decimal Classification system) sequence(Stack-III), United Nations Depository and Training Centre. The Computer Servers Room cum I.T. Section is also in the second floor.

The Stack I in the ground floor houses all Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences books arranged in the classified sequence, the Stack-III in the second floor houses all the reference collections and Sanskrit Books arranged in classified sequence and the Stack-IV in the third floor houses all back-volumes of journals arranged in the subject sequence and Tamil Books.
